Z and Buzz
Zach loves Toy Story and will watch it as often as we let him. It has kept him quite happy while he waits for Syl and Bob to come home from the hospital. Baby Dex gave him a Buzz Lightyear toy which he adores and may take to bed tonight.

While the sun shines slightly...
We managed to get out briefly today while the clouds held their rain in. Zachy got one good slide in at the Daves St. School.
A little ride in the neighborhood
It was a slow ride to the playground in the neighborhood as Z slipped into as many puddles as he could find.
Keeping Busy
Zach loves wheels and tools and everything associated with them. He spent nearly an hour with nuts and bolts and a mini muffin tin for keeping them handy. Syl tried to interest him in making a necklace from the nuts and a shoestring. He shook his head from side to side and said, "No like it!" He likes HER necklaces, she claims. Maybe he knows the difference between jewels and tools.

Bachman Park sandbox in the RAIN
Zachy is perfectly cheerful to play in the rain but he says, "Shoes offie???"
Farmer's Market with Gramily
We got such lovely kale and chard and beets for borsht. Zachy's treat was whole wheat garlic bread with olives. YUM!

Zach riding in the rain
It's raining cats and dogs here in Northern CA, but Zach doesn't mind. In fact, he LIKES it!
Boston to San Jose
I spent the long weekend with two of my grandchildren, and now am with the other ONE, while waiting for the birth of the fourth. I have just crossed the country, Boston to San Jose, knit and listened to podcast short stories from The New Yorker, enjoyed my seatmate/youngish grandmother from the Phillipines who was going to class reunion. I missed my sudoku and purchased a Will Shortz MODERATE book once we landed. Will S's idea of moderate is not as easy as other's challenging ones in my opinion. I have completely changed my strategy for knitting the scarf with sleeves and am ripping out all two skeins of Blue Sky alpaca/silk in ice/113. I am now practicing the fisherman's rib and will have to get new needles today as I am so unpredictable/fickle. Grrr. I could have brought the correct size with me, if, IF I had realized I was bound to change horses in midstream. This is my life: knitting, doing sudoku, enjoying human interaction, and stories. It's both reassuring and depressing.

Zach's garter cardi set
Syl sent me this photo of Zach. I knit him the sweater for Christmas, but I didn't finish the hat until I got home. I'm glad to hear he likes hats now that his hometown is chilly.

Can you see the owlet peeking out from under Sirdar Early Arrivals design B? Isn't he a little Ukranian Gnome?? We think he is so KISSABLE! He is now 6 months old.

Meow meow cardi on Sophia
I paid $5 for a bag of horrible buttons because I saw this ONE kitty button inside and knew it was perfect for my kitty-loving granddaughter. The cardigan pattern is minnowknits, Dutch Girl Cardigan.

Crispy or Chewy?
Which do YOU like better: the crunchy, almost burnt ones, or the chewy, soft, almost undercooked sugar cookies??

Valentine Bunny Girl
This is my first completed project of 2008. She was made from a Goodwill sweater that I felted. Because she lives in Maine and snow is forecast, she needed a hat and scarf so I made up a set she likes!
