Zach and the Injured Pigeon
Zach has shown great concern over a pigeon with an impaired leg in the local town green. Today we decided to try and nourish it with chicken feed from home. Zach shooed away the competition and managed to get the pigeon to eat out of his hand.

The Company I Keep
Ivan and I met in Maine in the eighties. Since then he has become a parent and single parent. Alice is his oldest. At fourteen (5'10", still growing) her goal in life is to become a self-supporting graphic novelist. She goes through many reams of paper every month. Her Papa was told by the principal of her school that there was nothing left in high school for her so she might as well go to college. Well, she's on her way. She's extraordinary, lovable and going places.

At the LTS (Local Thrift Store), The Happy Dragon
I found an unmarked HEAVY chevron knit cashmere sweater missing its label for $3. I guess the volunteer ladies couldn't tell it was cashmere or it would have had a much higher price tag. All their cashmere goes in a special locked case. This sweater is MUCH nicer than any in the case. I thought I might cut it up for projects but it fits so nicely and is so cozy ...decided to keep for the Self.
This Helen Kaminski hat cost $2, retailing for $245. It was hat karma as just last night I had coveted a sun hat like Meryl Streep's in It's Complicated.
I LOOOOVVVVE recycling!
