Siting on Leadbetter Rd.

I spied a barred owl in the daytime on Leadbetter Rd. It was a misty day, overcast and wet. This was the first ever owl I have been CERTAIN of, in the wild. Other times I have been confused as to whether I have seen an owl or hawk. I felt like it was a highlight of my life as I have longed and longed for such a siting.

  1. Aren't they beautiful? I've seen them several times, in various places. I heard that this year there were more around because of the deep snow making it hard for them to find their favored small rodent food, so they've been coming to open/cleared areas and bird feeders and such. Sadly many are not doing so well, hope yours was healthy!
